I made a tie for my dad. This is what it said:
What is your dad's favorite color?
What is your dad's favorite food?
What does your dad do when he's at work?
Does he work in an office?
How much do you think you dad weighs?
What is your favorite thing to do with your dad?
These questions were written on the tie I colored for him. You can guess what answers I gave in the comments and then I'll write a new blog about what the real answers were.
I made a frog. The way I made this frog: I took a paper plate, markers, and scissors. And a piece of paper. And a pink strip for the tongue. First, I took the paper plate. I colored it on the inside violet red. On the outside I made it a swirl of color. Next, I folded the plate so the swirl of color could show. Next I glued on some eyes. Then I added the tongue. I swirled it with my finger. Then you have your frog. I made it this way, but you can make it any way you want.
Next I made a toolbox for my dad. First I made a little pouch with the tool box. I folded a rectangle and glued it on the edges. Not the bottom and the top. Then I let it dry. Next I drawed tools on each different paper. A pink piece of paper was a saw and it said "I will weed the garden." Then I made a screwdriver on a red piece of paper. It said "I will wash your car." Next I cut out a hammer. It said "I will bring you the newspaper." Paint brush. It said "I will take out the garbage." Then I cut out the handle for the toolbox and glued it on. And I decorated it while it was drying. I held it on for a hundred seconds. Then I decorated. I wrote "Happy Father's Day" on it. And then I wrote "Love, Jenny." Then, at the top of my toolbox I made a blue squiggly line. Then over "Happy Father's Day" I put orange. Then I wrote "Love, Jenny." and colored "Jenny" in purple. Then at the bottom fo the orange I did a red squiggly line. That's how you make yours.
You can use anything you want to make yours, but this is how I made mine.
Then I made a book for my dad. The first one said "I mow the lawn with my dad." The next page said "We love to go to the ice cream store together." The last one saided "He loves me a lot. Like infinity times infinity."
That's the book.
Then I did Centers. Art was the froggy I told. The kitchen is when you make food for you dad (play). There's break the tower. You take a block thing, make a tower, then behind your back you break it, then show it to the person. Then the other person writes it down. Then you keep doing it. There's also puzzles. You know that. Then the write around the room. There's a whole bunch of words all around the room and you write them, one by one, on a piece of paper. That's it for Write the Room.
Then we went outside to play on the big kids' playground. The high school kind of playground. We ate otter pops. Swang on the swings. Went down the slide. Did the monkey bars. And did a see saw.
That's it for Dad's Discovery Day.
Bye for now!
